2023 Chubu Walkathon
Organizations Receiving 2023 Funding
Thank you very much for your help to support Chubu Walkathon. In 2023, we were able to raise ¥4,500,000, which will support 14 organizations in the Chubu area. Just by attending (buying raffle tickets, purchasing food & drink), you are helping local charitable organizations.
Homes for Children

Social Welfare Corporation Aichi Ikujiin Small Local Children's Home Yamanami (Nagoya)Nanzan Ryo (Nagoya)
Provides a home for children who come from families with difficult circumstances.
¥50,000 was donated for a one-day trip to Ise Jingu Shrine for High School students and to Inuyama Castle for Elementary students to enhance children's knowledge of Japanese history and culture.

Social Welfare Corporation Washin Houshi Kai Washin-kan Home for Children (Nagoya)Yoneyama Ryo Petit Village (Okazaki)
Provides a home for children who come from families with difficult circumstances.
¥100,000 is donated to purchase bookstore gift cards as Christmas gifts.

Chubu Children's Fund (Nagoya)
Provide funding and support for projects that empower, educate and inspire children residing in foster homes in the chubu area.
¥1,500,000 is donated to a scholarship program for students living at children's homes.
Support for Children

Nagoya Tewo Tsunagu Ikuseikai (Nagoya)NPO Childline Aichi (Nagoya)
Social Welfare Corporation Nagoya Tewo Tsunagu Ikuseikai (Nagoya) holds recreation activities, fund-raising activities, and make policy proposals led by people with mental disabilities.
¥100,000 was donated for a strawberry-picking excursion to Minami-Chita for children with mental challenges and their families to connect with other families.

Nagoya YMCA (Nagoya)NPO CAPNA (Nagoya)
Public interest incorporated foundation, Nagoya YMCA (Nagoya) provides various activities for youth and children with disabilities.
¥200,000 was provided to cover and/or subsidize travel expenses for children from needy families to participate in a 5-day YMCA Summer Camp in 2024.
Support for people with different abilities

NPO Aoinokaze Ichihoshi (Okazaki)
Provides after-school day-care service including weekend and extended holidays, family support, and learning support for children with a developmental disability.
¥200,000 is donated to install an AED at the facility where they conduct their activities.

Social Welfare Corporation Asunaro (Okazaki)
Asunaro runs Café Asunaro where mentally and physically challenged persons are able to work and interact with the local community.
Using funds from last year as well, ¥200,000 was donated to purchase a refrigerator-freezer for a café where mentally challenged people are able to work. They are targeting sales of ¥20,000/day to support the independence of the café staff.

Provides day care service, short-term care service, home help service, transportation service, and counseling services for severe mentally and physically handicapped people, particulary children.
¥220,000 was donated to purchase rehabilitation beds for severely disabled patients to reduce their stress and also the physical burden on staff.

Work Center Friends Hoshizaki (Nagoya)Work Center Friends Hoshizaki (Nagoya)
Provides a workplace for the mentally and physically challenged who cannot sustain regular employment, and offers training courses and transition support for people with disabilities who hope to work for ordinary businesses.
¥100,000 was donated to help re-make their website which will help people with disabilities find fulfilling employment opportunities.
Patient Support Groups

Make-A-Wish of Japan, Nagoya Branch (Nagoya)Make a Wish Japan
Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Make-A-Wish of Japan Nagoya Branch (Nagoya) helps to make dreams come true for children fighting a serious illness.
¥250,000 is donated to provide a "Disney Wish" by decorating "Wish Chidren's" hospital rooms with Disney goods, give them Disney goods as gifts, or provide a fun time at a hotel with their family.

Certified NPO Aichi Bone-marrow Bank Support Association (Nagoya)Aichi Marrow Donor Program Support Association (Nagoya)
Supports activities of the Japan Marrow Donor Program and conducts public awareness activities. Provides comprehensive support for blood diseases patients and their families.
¥280,000 was donated to hold a film screening & symposium to discuss and deepen understanding of the importance of the bone marrow bank and the role of donors.
Support for the Needy

Certified NPO CAPNA
Provides telephone and e-mail counseling services for the prevention of child abuse, shelter services for mothers and children, workshops for municipal officials, and public lectures.
¥500,000 was donated to help them to continue to operate a shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault (especially women and children.) The goal is to help support victims through counseling and providing shelter which leads to independence.

Kakekomi Women Center Aichi (Nagoya)
Runs a shelter for domestic violence victims, provides a telephone hotline, lawyer referrals, and other support to build new lives.
¥500,000 yen was donated to help them continue to operate a shelter as a temporary refuge for victims of domestic and sexual violence, and a foster-house as a medium/long-term shelter preparation for starting a new life.
